World Autism Awareness Day was yesterday, and on that occasion, our member Fundatia Pentru Voi, together with other organisations in Romania, organised an action called “The Blue Flower”: People with autism gave policy makers the equivalent of their daily income in form of a blue “Forget-me-not” flower, with the demand of increasing the allowance for adults with disability.

Currently, the disability allowance for adults with a severe disability is 340 lei per month (75 Euro), which means an income of 11 lei per day (2,44 Euro), totally insufficient for a living even subsistence.
In the context of the campaign, NGOs involved in the Bucharest Blue Flower campaign received Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu. Mircea-Valer Pauca, a person with High-functioning autism, also gave a flower to him.
Actions also took place in the Romanian cities of Timisoara, Iasi and Dorohoi.[:]
